Leka Xi Wall & Base – How It Works
Below is a breakdown of the Leka Xi Wall & Base system. It delivers a lighter structure with superior base insulation – ideal for conservatory upgrades, garden rooms, or single-storey home extensions.
Step 1 – Adjustable Feet
Depending on the ground conditions at the installation site, the supporting feet can typically be installed on basic concrete pads, reducing the need for extensive groundwork.
The adjustable capability of the feet accommodates varied floor levels, ensuring a precise and level finish upon completion.
Step 1b – Ground Screws
Ground screws provide an excellent alternative to concrete pads for foundations.
These innovative, structurally tested products are suitable for various ground conditions and are typically installed in under a day. Installation companies also offer ground surveys, saving you hassle and time.
Step 2 – Base System Installation
After laying a sufficient membrane over the ground area, the pre-manufactured GRP base system is installed. This includes a floor perimeter beam and structurally advanced supporting joists, thermally enhanced with PIR insulation sheets placed between them..
Step 3 – Modular Wall System
The Leka Xi wall is highly modular. Each wall is custom-made to the required height and width, then delivered in lightweight sections for rapid installation and a clean site.
Step 4 – Roof Installation
Once the modular framework is installed, the appropriate roof system is added. Various roof options can complement your installation, including:
- Flat Roof
- Orangery Roof
- Tiled Roof
Step 5 – Insulation
High-grade EPS insulation is pre-cut to size and neatly installed between the thermally efficient GRP framework.
Step 6 – Plastering and Flooring
After installing windows and doors, internal energy-efficient plasterboards are added, along with high-grade Weightrock flooring. This provides a surface ready for plastering and the application of your preferred floor covering.
Step 7 – External Finish
Once the structure is complete, choose your finish:
• Maintenance-friendly GRP brick, timber, or stone skins (quick to install)
• Render-ready board to receive a wet render coat by a plasterer
• Bespoke/combined finishes on request
